Broken Bowl is a daylong workshop based on the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi and the ancient practice of kintsugi. These approaches treat the cycle of breakage and repair as a part of an object's history rather than something to be discarded or disguised. The maker must move through a process of confronting change, accepting change, and deciding how to move forward with what is left. Participants will learn how to use the Broken Bowl process with a variety of populations, facilitating resilience, and illustrating the phases that span from loss to restoration. Join us for this insightful experience where you will learn about attachment, integration, resiliency, and how to make meaning out of brokenness.
